Valentine Mailbox Box Card

Hi all,

I made two of these SVGCuts Valentine Mailbox Cards for my grandchildren.  I love SVGCut files. I used paper I purchased last year. The boxes came together easy but still are time-consuming.  They are an act of love. I suggest using a very strong adhesive on the box to hold it together.

Square1Printable Rainbow Dash Shirt

Hi all,

I finished my granddaughter’s Rainbow Dash Shirt for her birthday.  I used the Square1 printable material.  I love Square1.  I designed the shirt with my Cameo using the Designer Edition.  I then colored the shapes in using the paint bucket.  I sized the image to 71/2 and printed it out–using registration marks.  Make sure you print on the fabric side-shiny side goes down on the mat.  I then cut it out with my Cameo.  I used the settings for cotton fabric, blade 5 and double cut.  All I had to do then was iron it onto the shirt.  You can find out more about Square1 here http://shop.square1masterpiece.com/?Click=657    Square1 is a safe alternative to vinyl.   I can’t wait to give my granddaughter the shirt.Rainbow Dash shirt2014-06-03 20.06.54

Waterfall Birthday Card

Hi all,

Here is a card I made for my daughter-in-laws birthday.   The waterfall birthday card is from the Silhouette store Design ID #42692.  It is a Lori 2014-03-10 15.14.10Whitlock design.  I watched her video to learn how to put it together.  It was very easy to follow.  2014-03-10 15.14.332014-03-10 15.14.552014-03-10 15.14.102014-03-10 15.15.09

Once you download your pictures, you can add them to the shape in the Silhouette DE studio.  You place the pic behind the shape and select crop.  The pic then becomes the size of the shape.  I added the pics to the pink squares and assembled the card as per the instructions on the video.  I attached gold star brads and a little handle.  The pics cascade down when the handle is pulled.

I really like the way this came out and it makes a birthday card very personalized and special.

My daughter-in-law loved it.

Dynamic Duos Color Challenge

2013-02-20 20.36.29Hi,

I made this card for the Dynamic Duo’s color challenge. We were to use the color combination turquoise and black. It is hard to see in my picture but the outfits were colored with turquoise and black. The stamps are from Close to My Heart.  I used Tombow dual brush pens and Recollections paper. I love the sentiment. It is sooo true. LOL

Male birthday card and OWH challenge using Silhouette

Hi,

Here is another birthday card I made for the OWH birthday challenge. I find male themed cards very hard to make. I think this one works great for a male birthday card. I used my silhouette and the print and cut feature to create the car card.  I purchased the car shape card from silhouette online store. If you haven’t tried the cut and print feature, I highly recommend giving it a go. There are 2013-02-04 14.42.112013-02-04 14.41.43a lot of videos on you tube that explain how it works. It really is very easy. The stamps for my card are from Close to My Heart. I paper pieced them on the card. I really like the way the card came out and plan on making one for my brother-in-law with his name on the license plate instead of USA.

Wrap it Up My Craft Spot Challenge #79

Hi all,
I can not believe Christmas is less then 2 weeks away. This month seems to be flying by. 2012-12-13 08.34.21 I am also anxiously awaiting the birth of my 3rd grandchild due next week. I am trying to finish up all my cards and wrapping this week. I made this gift bag for my nail tech. I used the Cricut Forever Young cart for the purse and nail polish. The ornament is from the Cricut Artiste cart. I am entering this bag in My Craft Spot’s Wrap it up challenge.

Challenge #139 -Snow
Our challenge this week is to provide inspiration for those snowy days ahead.   I decided to use the cricut Winter Frolic cartridge and create a card for the holidays.  I cut my snowman at 3 inches and used a Martha Stewart punch for the snowflakes on the first one and a My Creative Time die for the second.  I added stickels to the flakes to give them some sparkle.  I used some KI memories paper that I had in my stash. I think the cards came out cute and plan on making a few more to send to my friends.

Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown Winter Fun

2012-10-14 20.00.41This week OWH challenged us to make Winter themed cards that are fun for our heroes to send home
to their family and friends! I made both of these cards using the Cricut Very Merry Tags cartridge.  I had a lot of fun using this cartridge and plan on making several other cards from the cuts on it.  I used a little liquid pearl to add a bit of pop to the snowflake and his eyes.  The second card is a try fold card. I used my cuddlebug snowflake folder for the background.  I made the button with a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment on the first card is a Fiskars stamp.

I plan on making a few more of these to include in my box of cards to OWH.

OWH Sketch Challenge #143 with Tonic Studios!

Operation Write Home along with Tonic Studios has challenged us to create a card for our Troops using sketch #143.

Here’s the sketch…

I decided to create a card with a winter theme. I used Close To My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge for the snowflakes and the coordinating winter stamp for the sentiment.  I used cuddlebug snowflake embossing folder for the background.  I highlighted the embossed snowflakes with Tim Holtz embossing ink. I added liquid pearls to the snowflake to give it a little dimension and sparkle.  I embellished the bow with a crystal from Megan Elizabeth | Above Rubies Studio

I love the blue and white colors together. The card measures 4.25 by 5.50.

Comments are always welcome.

Operation Write Home Blog Hop

I made these cards for Operation Write Home’s blog hop. We were to use a winter theme to make cards that our heroes could use to send home to their love ones.  The first one is made using  Close to My Heart winter sentiment and snowflakes from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. I used liquid pearls to decorate the snowflakes and the ink was one of Megan’s little juicy stamp pads from Above Rubbies Studio.  I love the way the colors match. I added a little stickles to the bottom snowflake and popped up the sentiment and center snowflake to add demension.

The second card was made using the same cartridge and stamp set.  Only this time I used the OWH sketch 139 as my inspiration.  The pattern paper is from Recollections.  I used the liquid pearls again to add demension and sparkle and popped up the center snowflake.

I hope you are enjoying the card hop. Please consider joining us in making cards for our heroes. It is our way of saying thankyou and letting them know we care.  Feel free to leave a comment. I love reading them.
