Hulk Card for Operation Write Home

Hi all,

I hope you all had a great Easter.  The weather here was perfect and my grandchildren had a blast looking for their eggs.  Spending time with family and making memories is what it is all about.

I made this card with SVG Cutting files Hulk image.  I love their images. They come together easily.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the image and the print and cut feature to print and cut the sentiment.  I think this will be perfect for a little boy and will add several of these to my box of cards for Operation Write Home.  It is an A2 size card and the image was cut at approximately 3 inches.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks on the edges. The gate is a Martha Stewart punch.

Waterfall Birthday Card

Hi all,

Here is a card I made for my daughter-in-laws birthday.   The waterfall birthday card is from the Silhouette store Design ID #42692.  It is a Lori 2014-03-10 15.14.10Whitlock design.  I watched her video to learn how to put it together.  It was very easy to follow.  2014-03-10 15.14.332014-03-10 15.14.552014-03-10 15.14.102014-03-10 15.15.09

Once you download your pictures, you can add them to the shape in the Silhouette DE studio.  You place the pic behind the shape and select crop.  The pic then becomes the size of the shape.  I added the pics to the pink squares and assembled the card as per the instructions on the video.  I attached gold star brads and a little handle.  The pics cascade down when the handle is pulled.

I really like the way this came out and it makes a birthday card very personalized and special.

My daughter-in-law loved it.

Valentine Cards for Children

Hi all.

I hope everyone is staying warm during all this frigid and snowy weather.  We had another 12 inches of snow today followed by sleet and possibly more snow tonight. We didn’t get mail today  so I am glad I already mailed my grand children their Valentine cards.  I hope they get them tomorrow.

I used images from the silhouette on-line store and the cut and print feature on my cameo.  The cards are 4.25 by 5.50.  I decided to use the z or s fold after I was inspired by Cardz tv’s card.   I used the cute owls for my two youngest grand children and the adorable dogs for the two older ones.

I hope you all have a wonderful and warm Valentine’s Day!20140211_194356 20140211_194409 20140211_194626 20140211_194653 20140211_194758(0) 20140211_194827 20140211_194853

Fun Birthday Card for Male

Hi all,

I don’t know about you but I find it very hard to make a card for a male.  My brother-in-law’s birthday is coming up and I decided to make this Fun Birthday Card for him.  I used the SVG Cutting File’s Santa’s Helper – FARRAH #PP-1025 and their Fold Over Card Base Essentials #PP-1021 for the card base.   I used the print and cut feature on my Cameo for the image as some of the pieces were too small when I tried cutting them out.  My card is an A2 size card so the image had to be cut at about 3.5 inches in order to fit. I added some bling on her shoes and belt. 2014-01-29 11.42.54                                                                                                               Since he is turning 65,  I figured a sexy girl on the card would give him a laugh.

Operation Write Home MidWeek Throwdown: Color Challenge

Hi all,

Operation Write Home’s Midweek Throwdown is a Color Challenge.  They requested we use pastel colors to create a card for our troops to use to write home.  I used my Cameo and the print and cut feature to cut out these cute owls from Miss Kate Cuttables.  The bow is a die from My Creative Time.

Using Vinyl

Hi all,

Well I finally gave vinyl a try and was so surprised at how easy it really was.  I bought the vinyl from Cricut during their holiday sale.  It is oracal 631.  I used my cameo silhouette and their suggested settings for vinyl.  I placed my vinyl on a mat (although I know some people just feed it through without a mat)  I felt more comfortable using one.  It cut my monogram perfectly.  The silhouette weeding tool is a must have for weeding the vinyl.  I used the Cricut transfer tape,  made sure to completely rub the image and with a little extra rubbing power removed the shape and placed it on my vase.  2014-01-23 10.29.44

I am a newbie with vinyl and if I can do it I am sure anyone can.  Give it a try. I know I am now hooked and looking at what else I can decorate with my vinyl.2014-01-23 10.29.34

Operation Write Home VCMP Cards For Kids Challenge

2013-09-0413.24.56The challenge on this stop is to make a kiddie card using the tic-tac-toe board
shown below. I choose to go down the center row for my card.  This was a lot of fun to make.  The sheep is from the silhouette store.  The fence is a Martha Stewart punch. It originally had little bats on the posts but I clipped them off so it wouldn’t be just for Halloween. Thank you Scrapping with Purpose for a great challenge.
