Hi,
Today starts a free card class provided by Operation Write Home. Please check it out.
handcrafted cards . . .heartfelt expressions
The challenge on this stop is to make a kiddie card using the tic-tac-toe board
shown below. I choose to go down the center row for my card. This was a lot of fun to make. The sheep is from the silhouette store. The fence is a Martha Stewart punch. It originally had little bats on the posts but I clipped them off so it wouldn’t be just for Halloween. Thank you Scrapping with Purpose for a great challenge.
Hi,
I made this fall card for Operation Write Home VCMP challenge #7. We were to make a card with a fall theme with an I Love You, Miss You or Thinking About You sentiment. I actually made two versions with different papers. The papers were from a pad I bought last year at Michaels. I used the cut and print feature on my silhouette for the cute little bear from KaDoodle Bug Designs. I embossed using the pinking folder from Cuttlebug. I plan on making a few of these to add to my box of cards for OWH.
Hi all,
I know I have been away from this blog for a while but I have had a lot happen. I had another grandchild born which was such a blessing. I spent a lot of time with my daughter after the birth. I also had surgery to remove my gall bladder. I am feeling so much better now. Needless to say I have been itching to get back into my craft room.
Operation Write Home put up another challenge this week. They are challenging us to use something on our card three times, an embellishment, stamped image etc. for our heroes to send home to their family and friends!
I made this thank you card using my silhouette. The flower-pot and sentiment were from their on-line store. I used paper from my stash and flowers from Michael’s. I love the colors.
Please keep the people in Oklahoma in your thoughts. They need all the prayers and help we can give.
I hope you all have a great week and enjoy this Memorial Day Weekend.
I know it has been awhile since my last post. I have a new grandson and have been helping my daughter. I have been fortunate to have two new grandbabies born. One in December and one end of February. The joy they bring is beyond measure.
I made this card for Operation Write Home and Dynamic Duo and their color challenge for this week. We were challenged to make a card using blue and green. The card is 4.25 by 5.5. I used my cameo and the print and cut feature. The little bird is from the silhouette on line store. The blue background paper is from DCWV.
Hi,
I have been busy making cards for Operation Write Home. This week’s challenge was to make a card with a fun fold. I chose a swing birthday cake card that I got from the on-line store. I decorated the front of the card with Tim Holtz distress inks. I used the cut outs for the cake as masks for the front. The icing layer on the front of the card was a Martha Stewart stamp I purchased during Halloween. I love using my stash for things other than what they were intended for. I used Recollections paper for the base and
insi
de of the card. I added a little stickles to the candles on the front.
I had a lot of fun making this card.
Hi,
Here is another birthday card I made for the OWH birthday challenge. I find male themed cards very hard to make. I think this one works great for a male birthday card. I used my silhouette and the print and cut feature to create the car card. I purchased the car shape card from silhouette online store. If you haven’t tried the cut and print feature, I highly recommend giving it a go. There are a lot of videos on you tube that explain how it works. It really is very easy. The stamps for my card are from Close to My Heart. I paper pieced them on the card. I really like the way the card came out and plan on making one for my brother-in-law with his name on the license plate instead of USA.
Hi all,
I wanted to share this birthday card I made for my granddaughter’s third birthday.
It is a shape card using the cupcake from the CTM Cricut Artiste Cartridge. The teddy bear is from the Teddy Bear on Parade lite cartridge. I love these cartridges. They have everything you could ever need. I am going to make several more of these without the birthday number for Operation Write Home. I could put a cherry on top instead. They are requesting birthday cards for children this month.
Hi, It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is this week. I have been working on Christmas cards. This is one of the cards I included in my Operation Write Home box. The sentiment is a Fiskars stamp. I got the snowman stamp from Michaels. I colored it with Tombow dual brush pens.
